{"id":1574,"date":"2020-12-19T00:00:00","date_gmt":"2020-12-18T23:00:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/bsiw.pl\/new-sugar-fee\/"},"modified":"2020-12-19T00:00:00","modified_gmt":"2020-12-18T23:00:00","slug":"new-sugar-fee","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/bsiw.pl\/en\/new-sugar-fee\/","title":{"rendered":"New \u201csugar fee\u201d."},"content":{"rendered":"<p>As of 1<sup>st<\/sup> of January 2021 the provisions of the Act from 14<sup>th<\/sup> of February 2020 on the amendment of certain acts in regards to promotion of pro-health consumer choices, concerning the so-called \u201csugar fee\u201d, come into force.<\/p>\n<p>The above mentioned law introduces a new chapter 3a \u201cFree on groceries\u201d into the Public Health Act.<\/p>\n<p>The new fee, which is in fact a tax, will apply to beverages with added sugars. The fee is to be paid by entities introducing such beverages to the market, i.e., supplying products to the first retail outlet. The Act contains also its own definitions of market introduction and retail sales, which are not free from interpretation controversies.
