The first module of the Waste Database, the operation of which is regulated by the Act of 14 December 2012 on waste, is already active on the website of the Ministry of Environmental Protection.
This module includes a register of entrepreneurs running activities related to waste management. The register is kept by the marshals of voivodships. Until 24 July 2018, every entrepreneur subject to entry into the register is obliged to submit an application, unless he is entered into the register ex officio.
The application to the register is to be submitted primarily by entrepreneurs to whom the Act on packaging and packaging waste management applies, as well as entrepreneurs transporting waste, recycling vehicles, waste batteries and accumulators.
In the future, the database will include a series of information on the entire waste management in the country.
