On May 25, 2018, at the same time as the GDPR Regulation, a new act on the protection of personal data entered into force. Its aim is to adapt the Polish legal order to new European regulations, including regulating the position of the new body – the President of the Office for Personal Data Protection.
The above act includes, among other things, the regulation regarding civil lawsuit claims related to personal data breach, imposing fines by the President of the Office, as well as amending the Labor Code by regulations regarding employers’ monitoring of the workplace.
