On April 26, 2019, the Parliament adopted a bill amending the act on shaping the agricultural system. The amendment liberalizes the current rules of acquiring agricultural land by non-farmers.
Under the new rules, the restrictions will not apply to land with an area smaller than 1 ha. They will also not include acquisition of real estate through enforcement proceedings, division of property and transformation of commercial law companies.
Additionally, when the consent of the National Center for Agricultural Support is required to sell the agricultural property, and the consent will not be granted, the Center is obliged at the request of the seller to purchase the property.
