Representatives of our law firm – dr. Mirosław Babiaczyk, Maciej Olejniczak, Tytus Niewczyk and Maria Gawecka participated in an Annual General Meeting of Pangea Net, which was hosted this year by Pangea’s Danish member –Andersen Partners Advokatfirma in Kolding last week (30th of May-1st of June).
Thursday began with the meeting of several Practice Groups and was followed by a boat ride to the Andersen’s office, where we had the chance to enjoy a beautiful view, amazing food and each other’s company.
On Friday, the event took place at Hotel Koldingfjord, where members of discussed organizational matters related to the network and summed up the past year, held elections of two new board members Mikael Åström and Oliver Fritschi, sang their hearts out saying goodbye to a years-long treasurer Georg Weber and officially welcomed the firms that recently joined the network.
Members of Pangea NeXt had the pleasure to listen to Peter Kjær – Vice President, IPR, Entertainment & Licensing at the LEGO Group. During the session the attendees discussed the histroy, vision and structure of Lego Group as a company, how the company protects it’s intellectual property and what challenges in IPR protection and enforcement there are.
In the afternoon we had the oportunity to listen to Lykke Friis from Tænketanken EUROPA – an expert on European politics and a former Minister for Climate and Energy and discuss the uncertain future of Europe in the time of crisis.
The day concluded with a visit and dinner in the Castle Koldinghus.
Saturday was the time to let loose and sightsee. The program included a trip to LEGO House, lunch at REFBORG as well as visit and wine tasting at Skærsøgaard Vin. In the evening we were entertained by capitivating performance by Henrik Svanekiær.
